Having accomplished tremendous local success, the Firm is planning an aggressive regional expansion program covering 3 countries in the MENA Region and hence decided to increase its capital by partnering up with a leading prestigious private equity firm. First Capital adviced SIGMA on the private placement of a minority equity stake valued at US$ 40 million through a capital increase. First Capital worked as sell-side advisor with SEKEM Holding, a leading diversified Group with interests in FMCG, Biodynamic Farming, Organic Textiles and Phyto-Pharmaceuticals. SEKEM has won several awards for its leadership on corporate social responsibility. To fuel its explosive growth, SEKEM needed to raise a combination of equity and debt. First Capital adviced SEKEM on a private placement of equity and debt totaling LE 200 million. The deal was concluded in January 2007.

The Firm is considering several options including; strategic tie-up, equity private placement, and M&A opportunities. The initial review process including optimum transaction scenarios, structures and possibilities is complete. The private placement transaction is expected to conclude in the second quarter of 2009.
